Time flies, and in the blink of an eye, Shen Yichen and Lin Youran have spent several years together. One weekend evening, Shen Yichen finally finished his work. He leaned back wearily in his chair, gazing at the bustling city nightscape outside the window, yet felt a strange emptiness in his heart. He picked up his phone, hesitated for a moment, and then dialed Lin Youran's number.

"You Ran, are you busy?" Shen Yichen's voice sounded a little hoarse.

"Yichen? Why are you calling all of a sudden?" Lin Youran's voice was filled with surprise. "I was at the gallery just now, I just finished something and was about to go home."

“I…I want to see you,” Shen Yichen said, revealing her thoughts. “We haven’t had a chat in a long time.”

“Sure! I was just about to look for you.” Lin Youran readily agreed. “Come to the gallery. I have some new paintings that have just arrived, and I’d like you to take a look.”

After hanging up the phone, Shen Yichen immediately got up and drove to Lin Youran's gallery. Along the way, he felt exceptionally relaxed, as if all his fatigue had vanished. He knew that whenever he was with Lin Youran, he could always find that long-lost peace and contentment.

When Shen Yichen entered the gallery, Lin Youran was already waiting for him. She was wearing a simple white dress, her long hair flowing over her shoulders, making her look exceptionally fresh and refined. Seeing Shen Yichen enter, she immediately flashed a radiant smile.

"Yichen, you're here!" Lin Youran greeted him. "Come and see these new paintings. I think some of them are really good."

Shen Yichen followed Lin Youran to the paintings. He carefully admired each piece, nodding in praise from time to time. However, his mind wasn't entirely on the paintings. What he cherished more was the time spent with Lin Youran, the feeling that allowed him to forget his troubles and rediscover himself.

“You Ran, do you know?” Shen Yichen suddenly turned around and looked at Lin You Ran seriously. “Sometimes I really feel so tired, as if the whole world is pressing down on my shoulders. But whenever I think of our promise, and think of you, I feel that everything has meaning.”

Lin Youran was taken aback by his words. Looking at the light shining in Shen Yichen's eyes, a warm feeling welled up in her heart. "Yichen, me too," she said softly. "Sometimes I feel lost and helpless, but as long as I think of you and our promise, I feel strong."

They smiled at each other, their unspoken understanding and tacit agreement needing no further explanation. They knew that no matter how life changed, no matter how many difficulties and challenges they might encounter in the future, as long as they stayed together and stayed true to their original aspirations, nothing could stop them from moving forward.

“You Ran, I remember we made a promise to see the most beautiful scenery in the world together,” Shen Yichen suddenly said. “Once we’re done with this busy period, let’s travel together, okay?”

“Okay!” Lin Youran immediately agreed. “I’ve always wanted to see those beautiful scenes that only exist in picture books.”

They began excitedly discussing their travel plans, as if all their worries and stress had vanished instantly. In that art-filled gallery, they rediscovered the passion and dreams of their youth.

However, they also know that reality won't stop for their dreams. The road ahead is long, and they will encounter more challenges and difficulties. But as long as they hold fast to their original aspirations and their promises, nothing can stop them from moving forward hand in hand.

In the days that followed, Shen Yichen and Lin Youran devoted themselves even more diligently to their respective work. They knew that only through continuous effort and progress could they better realize their dreams and uphold that precious promise.
