A few days later, Yun Yi, carrying large and small bags of luggage, happily moved into Lin Yue's house after Yun Xiling's "repeated reminders" (behave according to the rules, be diligent, and don't make Sister Yue Yue angry).

Lin Yue helped him settle in a bit and then gave him the key to his brother's old room.

"Thank you, Sister Yueyue! Please take care of me in the future!" Yun Yi smiled brightly, radiating the youthful vigor unique to young people.

Lin Yue rubbed her temples. Oh well, this kid is only staying for a few days to get used to the environment; he'll still be going back to Y City for summer vacation. He'll come back when school starts. She put on her headphones and immersed herself in her TV series and novels.

On Saturday morning, a familiar knocking sounded at the door.

Li Yuetian arrived as promised, ready to give Lin Yue her weekly "fill-in-the-blank" check-up. He was carrying two cups of Lin Yue's favorite milk tea, a hint of barely perceptible anticipation on his lips.

Soon, the door opened.

But the smile on Li Yuetian's face froze instantly.

Standing inside the door was not Lin Yue, but a young man wearing a loose T-shirt, with slightly messy hair, who had clearly just gotten up—Yun Yi!

"Li Yuetian?" Yun Yi was also stunned, clearly not expecting it to be him knocking on the door. He subconsciously glanced back at Lin Yue's tightly closed door, then turned back, his eyes instantly filled with scrutiny and a hint of barely perceptible wariness. "Why are you here? And how did you know where Lin Yue lives?"

The two boys stared at each other across the threshold, the air seeming to freeze for a fraction of a second. Li Yuetian's mind raced: "Yun Yi? What's he doing here? And he looks like he lives here?" An inexplicable sense of crisis gripped his heart.

"Yes, I'm here to tutor Lin Yue." Li Yuetian suppressed his turbulent emotions and tried to make his tone sound calm. "Is she home?"

“Yes, yes…” Yun Yi blocked the doorway, not making any move immediately. His eyes darted between Li Yuetian and the milk tea in his hand, his tone drawn out with a hint of ambiguity.

"Oh~ tutoring class. Yueyue is still washing up, you can come in first." He finally stepped aside, but the "oh~" at the end sounded particularly grating to Li Yuetian.

Lin Yuecai came out of the bathroom while drying her hair and was clearly taken aback when she saw the two people in the living room: "Li Yuetian? So early today? Yunyi, what are you doing blocking the door?"

"No, I'm opening the door for Brother Yuetian." Yun Yi immediately put on a smile, took the lead and sat down on the sofa, picking up the game phone on the table as if this was his territory.

Li Yuetian walked in and handed the milk tea to Lin Yue: "I brought you a drink. Shall we rest for a bit and then start?" He tried to ignore Yun Yi's presence and focused his gaze on Lin Yue.

"Okay." Lin Yue took the milk tea, thanked her, and took out her books and exercises. "Perfect timing, I'm not sure about a few of the questions I got wrong on the final math test."

Soon, the tutoring session began. Li Yuetian sat next to Lin Yue as usual, patiently explaining the problems. However, with another person in the living room, the atmosphere changed completely.

Although Yun Yi didn't say anything, he didn't go back to his room either. He just casually lounged on the single sofa next to him, holding a controller in his hand, but his eyes weren't on the screen. His gaze kept drifting towards Lin Yue's room, especially landing on Li Yuetian's hand as he was pointing out Lin Yue's homework.

"The key to this problem is adding auxiliary lines. Look, connect AC and BD, and use the midline theorem..." Li Yuetian pointed to the diagram.

"Tsk." A soft, slightly disdainful click of the tongue came from the side.

Li Yuetian frowned almost imperceptibly, but ignored it.

"...So, we can find the angle; the answer is 60 degrees." Li Yuetian finished speaking and looked at Lin Yue.

"Oh! I see! So that's how you connect them!" Lin Yue suddenly realized.

"Why are you taking so long to explain a single question? Are you doing this on purpose?" Yun Yi's voice was neither too loud nor too soft, just loud enough for the two of them to hear. His eyes were fixed on the TV screen, his fingers flying across the buttons, as if he were talking to himself, but the sarcastic tone in his voice was practically overflowing.

Lin Yue looked up and gave Yun Yi a strange look: "What are you muttering about? Play your game."

"It's nothing, I just said the game's boss is really weak." Yun Yi said innocently without looking up.

Li Yuetian's fingers tightened slightly on the pages. He understood. This kid was definitely doing it on purpose! He was provoking him! A surge of anger welled up inside him, but he took a deep breath and forcibly suppressed it.

He couldn't lose his composure in front of Lin Yue, especially not while "working." He cleared his throat, his voice becoming even more steady and clear than before: "Lin Yue, let's move on to the next question. This question requires the properties of quadratic functions..."

The entire tutoring session took place in this subtle, subtly tense atmosphere. Yun Yi would occasionally mutter to himself, to which Li Yuetian would respond with more focused and professional explanations.

Lin Yue was caught in the middle, her mind mostly on the questions. She only felt that Yun Yi was a bit noisy today, and Li Yuetian was explaining things in exceptional detail. She didn't think too much about the relationship between the two of them.

I finally made it to the end of my tutoring session, and it was almost lunchtime.

"What do you want to eat for lunch? I'll order takeout," Lin Yue asked, putting away her books.

“I’m fine with anything,” Li Yuetian said.

"Sister Yueyue, I want to eat the braised chicken at the entrance of our community!" Yunyi immediately raised his hand.

"Okay." Lin Yue picked up her phone to place an order.

“Wait a minute,” Li Yuetian suddenly spoke up, “Eating takeout all the time isn’t healthy. Lin Yue, I see you have some vegetables in your fridge, how about we cook something simple today? I’ll help you.”

"Huh?" Lin Yue was a little surprised. Li Yuetian had been tutoring her at her house for so long. She used to cook for him, but she gradually stopped doing so, and Li Yuetian didn't seem to mind.

"Yes, yes, yes! Do it yourself!" Yun Yi immediately jumped up, moving faster than a rabbit. "Lin Yue, you rest, I'll go to the kitchen to see what dishes are available!" Before he finished speaking, he had already rushed into the kitchen.

Li Yuetian's eyes sharpened, and he immediately stood up: "I can wash vegetables faster, so I'll go too. You learned a lot today, so digest it first and get some rest." He quickly followed him inside.

"The fish smells too strong, let me do it! Sister Yueyue doesn't like her hands smelling fishy!" Yunyi put down the knife and went to grab the fish again.

"It's alright, I've brought gloves." Li Yuetian moved even faster, already putting on rubber gloves.

Lin Yue stood with her arms crossed, leaning against the kitchen doorway, watching the two boys inside "fighting" for ingredients around the small counter. Each of them was faster than the other, and she felt both annoyed and amused, but mostly confused.

Are these two... possessed?

A meal was prepared with a strange mix of "efficiency" and "attentiveness." The atmosphere during the meal was even more subtle.

"Sister Yue, try this fish. I steamed it for two extra minutes, so it's sure to be tender!" Yun Yi placed a large piece of fish belly meat into Lin Yue's bowl.

"Lin Yue, this vegetable is cooked just right, you should eat more vegetables." Li Yuetian followed closely behind, placing a mouthful of bright green vegetables into Lin Yue's bowl.

Lin Yue looked at the rice bowls that had instantly piled up like a small mountain. Tsk... she really knows how to thank him.

"I can do it myself." There's too much; she can't possibly eat it all!

She felt a little uncomfortable; this sudden enthusiasm left her somewhat bewildered.
