Chapter 62 The eldest uncle's accident (Part 2)
"Mother, how is my younger brother?" Lin Shu hurried forward and asked, pulling his grandmother's arm around him.
"Xiaoshu, Dr. He is already treating her, and he says she can be cured," Grandma Lin said quickly when she saw her daughter arrive.
"That's good, that's good." Lin Shu breathed a sigh of relief. When she heard the news that her younger brother had an accident, she was terrified and rushed to the town, afraid that something might have happened. Now that he's alright, she's relieved.
A moment later, Dr. He came out and several people hurriedly went up to him.
"Dr. He, how is my uncle?" Xiao Siyue asked quickly.
"The person is fine now. They'll wake up in about 15 minutes. You can go and check on them now." After explaining, Doctor He went to get the medicine.
When Xiao Siyue went in, she saw Uncle Lin lying on the bed, still unconscious. His broken leg had been fixed and bandaged with bamboo strips.
Everyone remained silent, waiting quietly for Uncle Lin to wake up.
Sure enough, after about 15 minutes, Uncle Lin let out a soft groan and slowly opened his eyes.
"What's wrong with me?" Uncle Lin asked weakly. He had just tried to get up when Lin Shu pressed him down.
"Brother, lie down first. Your leg has just been immobilized, so don't move it yet," Lin Shu said after helping him to lie down properly.
"My leg, cough cough, my leg?" Uncle Lin exclaimed as if he had just realized something, reaching out to touch his leg.
"Uncle, your leg is fine, don't worry," Xiao Siyue quickly comforted him. Hearing her uncle's violent coughing, she was extremely worried. Her uncle's lungs and internal organs were still injured, so he couldn't cough violently and had to keep calm.
“Uncle, your leg was broken, but Dr. He has set it. You'll be able to move around freely in a few months. But don't move now,” Xiao Siyue explained, knowing that Uncle Lin was worried about his broken leg.
"Yes, eldest son, don't worry." Grandma Lin chimed in, finally managing a smile when she saw her son wake up.
Uncle Lin's expression softened upon hearing this.
"Son, what happened? You used to hunt all the time, how could you have been hit by a wild boar?" Grandma Lin asked in confusion. She knew her son's skills; although he didn't know any martial arts, he shouldn't have been injured like this by a wild boar.
Upon hearing this, Uncle Lin's expression changed, and he closed his eyes and remained silent.
Seeing this, everyone realized that there might be something more to this story.
After a while, Uncle Lin opened his eyes, looked at Grandma Lin, and said, "It's my younger brother."
"What did you say? It's Lin Wen!" Grandma Lin's eyes widened, and she exclaimed in disbelief.
Xiao Siyue also found it somewhat unbelievable that it was because of her uncle.
"What exactly happened?" Lin Shu stood to the side, her face ashen. She had reached her limit with what her underling had done over the years.
"When I was hunting in the mountains, I suddenly heard my younger brother's cries for help. I rushed over and saw a wild boar chasing him relentlessly. I quickly pulled him behind me. The boar was coming at me fiercely, and I was about to dodge when my younger brother suddenly pushed me, causing me to crash into the boar that was charging at me," Uncle Lin said, closing his eyes.
At that moment, he simply couldn't believe that the younger brother he was desperately protecting would actually push him away, but what he didn't expect was yet to come.
Upon hearing this, Grandma Lin's legs went weak, and she collapsed to the ground. Lin Shu, who was standing nearby, quickly helped her up. Meanwhile, Aunt Lin, who was standing by the bed, had an icy look in her eyes.
"Then what about Lin Wen? Why wasn't it Lin Wen who brought you back?" Grandma Lin still held onto a sliver of hope.
"He...he ran away. He pushed me out and then ran away," Uncle Lin said painfully.
"After I was hit and thrown into the air, just as the wild boar was about to trample on my body, I was saved by some people I was hunting with." He was in despair at that moment, but he didn't expect that he was destined to survive.
Hearing these words, Xiao Siyue could already imagine the despair on her uncle's face at that moment. But how could her younger uncle have become like this?
"Waaah, Lin Wen, how could he, how could he be so cruel? You're his older brother!" Grandma Lin was truly heartbroken at this moment; how could her son have turned out like this?
"He's utterly wicked and should be handed over to the authorities. He's murdered someone," Aunt Lin said viciously. She had almost lost her husband. How could she have such a brother? She hated Lin Wen to the core.
"Mother, don't cry. Lin Wenzhen is a scoundrel." Lin Shu was also extremely disappointed. He was unfilial to his mother before, and now he has even harmed his own brother.
"Mother, how could Second Uncle do this?" Lin Dandan, who was standing to the side, cried as she hugged her eldest aunt.
Lin Xinzhou, standing by the bed, clenched his fists, seemingly lost in thought, his eyes fixed on his uncle, Lin Dajiu, on the bed.
“Because he’s a beast, repaying kindness with enmity. Your father saved him, but he pushed your father out to block wild boars.” Aunt Lin cried and cursed at the same time.
"Sister-in-law..." Lin Shu's words were interrupted by his aunt.
“How could I say something wrong? I did say something wrong. He’s worse than an animal,” Aunt Lin continued to curse.
"Mother, didn't Lin Wen come?" Lin Shu asked, as she had never seen Lin Wen and his family before.
"Hmph, would he dare to come? He almost killed my husband," Aunt Lin said with a look of disdain and resentment.
The elderly couple from the Xiao family exchanged bewildered glances, never expecting things to turn out this way. They were astounded by the Lin family's youngest son's ruthlessness, but they said nothing. Although they were in-laws, they were still two separate families, and they had no right to interfere.
Hearing her aunt's scolding, Xiao Siyue thought it was well-deserved; she deserved it and should have been beaten. Not being beaten would be too lenient.
But now is not the time; my uncle needs to rest.
"Aunt, let Uncle rest properly." Xiao Siyue looked at her uncle's increasingly pale face and knew she couldn't disturb him any longer.
"Yes, yes, husband, you should rest for a while," Aunt Lin noticed Uncle Lin's expression and quickly stopped scolding him.
"Auntie, let's go out first," Xiao Siyue said, turning to Lin Shu.
Lin Shu understood and helped the grief-stricken Grandma Lin walk outside.
Only after they went outside to sit down did Grandma Lin take Lin Shu's arm and say, "Little Shu, sob sob... how could your little brother have become like this?"
"Mother, she's not my younger brother. I don't have a brother as ruthless as her," Lin Shu retorted angrily.
"Woooo..."
"Mother, please don't cry. We can talk about this when we get back. Right now, the most important thing is my younger brother's health." Lin Shu couldn't bear to see his grandmother crying.
For the next few days, Xiao Siyue would come to visit her uncle every day, accompanied by her parents, and would bring some nourishing food. She only stopped when she learned from Doctor He that she could go home to rest.
