Chapter 173 Summoning
Chapter 173 Summoning
Diana took out all the things that everyone had prepared for Elua.
"Xiaoya, Dabai, I'll leave you here!"
Murong Bai asked tentatively.
“Miss Diana, thank you so much for taking care of my little sister these past few days! If you don’t mind, please come to my house to rest for a while. My father would also like to meet you.”
Diana waved her hand.
"Let's forget about it! It's not very convenient for me to move around in the sea."
"By the way! How are you going to get all this back? You can't use it in the sea!"
Murong Bai saw that Diana refused and was thinking of trying to persuade her.
"You don't have to worry about that."
After he finished speaking, mist rose around Murong Bai, and he transformed into a white dragon. He opened his huge mouth and inhaled, and everything on the ground entered his mouth.
Diana's mouth dropped open.
"What kind of operation is this?! You ate it all?"
Murong Bai twisted his massive body, his snow-white scales shimmering with an eerie luster in the sunlight.
"Those things are just stored inside my body."
Diana was somewhat envious of his ability; wasn't this practically a portable spatial treasure?
"That's really convenient!"
Murong Bai twisted his body repeatedly, and finally, as if he had made up his mind, he pressed his huge dragon head against the beach.
“Miss Diana, if you find it difficult to move around in the sea, I... I can actually give you a ride!”
Elua turned her head and looked at Murong Bai in shock. Was this still her fourth brother? Where was the majesty of the dragon clan?
Diana looked at the two snow-white dragon horns on Murong Bai's head. This was a real dragon! She did have a strong urge to ride it, but in the end, she shook her head.
"I'll definitely do it next time! I still have some things to take care of."
There was a clear hint of disappointment in Murong Bai's eyes.
"In that case, let's do it next time. The sea creatures will always welcome you."
Diana smiled and nodded in agreement, then looked at Elua and waved.
"Xiaoya, be a good girl when you get home! I'll come pick you up when school starts!"
Elua turned her head away, clearly still angry with her.
Diana shrugged helplessly.
"Alright then, I'll be going now, Xiaoya. Contact me via Q through the space stone if you need anything."
Diana turned to teleport away when she was suddenly hugged from behind, and Elua's aggrieved voice came from behind.
"Anna, I'm not angry with you anymore! Please come pick me up soon!"
Diana was both amused and exasperated, and turned to pat Elua's little head.
"Okay, okay, I promise I'll come pick you up earlier! Hey! Don't wipe your snot on my clothes!"
Diana pushed Elua's head away in disgust.
······
Diana had barely settled into her seat back at the manor when the phone rang. Yes, it was the phone. Landline phones were becoming commonplace in Oliver City, though they were still the kind that required human intervention, but that was already quite an achievement.
"Hey! This is the city lord's residence. Who are you looking for?"
"Hey! Anna! It's me!"
Although the sound from the receiver wasn't very clear, Diana still recognized Adolf's voice.
"Master! What good news is there? Have you come up with something interesting again?"
On the other end of the phone, Adolf's lips twitched.
"Nothing good is coming! But I have something important to tell you."
"Hello? Hello! Master, what did you say? The signal is bad, I can't hear you! I'll hang up now if there's nothing else!"
"Diana! Come to my office right now! Otherwise, I'll stop that television research project you mentioned immediately!"
"Roger that!"
Diana readily agreed. She had no choice; the world was just too boring. At first, she was somewhat interested in all sorts of things, but after a while, she became indifferent. The only solution she could think of now was to rapidly develop technology and enter the internet age as soon as possible.
Inside Adolf's office, just as Diana's voice faded from the receiver in his hand, the space in front of him distorted, and then Diana appeared out of thin air.
Adolf looked at Diana, who had a displeased expression, with a mixture of amusement and exasperation.
"Anna, you are the city lord. You can't just sit around doing nothing and enjoy yourself all day long. You have to shoulder the responsibilities of a city lord! With great power comes great responsibility, do you understand? If you do something like this in the future..."
Adolf didn't say the rest aloud, only thinking to himself, 'What would happen if he became king!'
Diana sat on the sofa, swinging her legs, and was already munching on an apple.
"Yes, yes, I understand, Master!"
Adolf sighed, "Anna is still young, we can't rush her! We can't rush her!"
"Let's get down to business! A summons has arrived from the capital; His Majesty wishes to see you."
Diana didn't react much, continuing to leisurely nibble on the apple in her hand.
"If he can see me whenever he wants, wouldn't I lose face? I won't see him!"
Adolf was completely bewildered. "What face do you need! The king can see you whenever he wants!"
"Don't talk nonsense! Anna, you can't spout such things in public!"
Seeing that Diana still seemed indifferent, he sighed again.
"No matter what, His Majesty's decree cannot be ignored! I will go with you!"
Adolf got up and went to a mirror to tidy his appearance.
"But there's no rush. We can go see His Majesty in a few days."
"It's been several months since I left the academy in the capital, and I'm starting to miss it! This is a good opportunity to go back and visit!"
Diana popped the rest of the apple into her mouth.
"Master, when shall we set off?"
Adolf took out his pre-prepared luggage from under his desk.
"Let's not delay! Let's set off now!"
Diana looked at Adolf with suspicion.
"Hey~ Master~ You're pretending to miss her, you're really just going to see Grandma Candice!"
Adolf's lips twitched.
"How...how could that be! I'm not that kind of person!"
Diana pretended to turn around.
"Oh! Since we're going back, I'll go and call Master Felix and the others. We can go back together and take a look!"
Adolf quickly stepped forward and picked up Diana.
"No need to call them, Anna! There are still many things waiting for them to handle here! They can't leave for the time being!"
ah-
Felix, who was lying in a chair reading a book, rubbed his nose.
"Who's talking about me for no reason!"
