Chapter 657 The Crisis of the Guardian Patterns and Clues from the Time Turbulence Belt (2)

Chapter 657 The Crisis of the Guardian Patterns and Clues from the Time Turbulence Belt (2)

The guardian glanced at the crowd, then turned and disappeared into the miniature spatial passage constructed from dimensional runes—the other end of the passage led directly to the northeast of the chaotic space. The fused entity stood at the edge of the light shield, gazing at the point where the passage closed, its eyes filled with worry, but it could only suppress its emotions and turn back to the defensive battle.

Inside the miniature spatial passage, the Guardian leaned against the passage wall, panting heavily. Condensing the Evil-Slaying Arrow had consumed a great deal of his energy, and now he was even struggling to maintain the stability of his consciousness's light flow. He took out an energy chip, transferred its information into his consciousness, and began to study methods to deal with the temporal turbulence zone.

"The core of the Time Fragment Storm is the 'Time Crystal.' As long as enough Time Crystals are collected, a 'Time Shield' can be created to resist the storm. And Time Crystals only exist in the 'Crystal Canyon' on the outer edge of the Time Turbulence Zone." The Guardian silently recited the information, fusing the four-colored energy with the energy of the Chaos Guardian Rune fragments to create a simple energy detector.

The detector can sense the energy fluctuations of the time crystal, helping him quickly find the crystal canyon.

The passage traversed faster than expected, and in less than an hour, the exit appeared ahead. Outside the exit, a distorted gray area floated in the chaotic space. The spatial fragments within the area displayed different colors; some shimmered with a dark yellow representing the past, while others emitted a pale blue representing the future.

This is the Time Turbulence Zone. On the outer edge of the turbulence zone, a massive canyon is faintly visible, its interior shimmering with countless tiny silver lights—the very location of the Time Crystal.

"Crystal Canyon!" The guardian was overjoyed and was about to fly out of the passage when he suddenly sensed a familiar energy fluctuation coming from outside the passage.

This is the chaotic energy fluctuation of the Mother Nest! He immediately stopped what he was doing and extended his consciousness to the outside of the passage. He saw three black figures guarding the entrance to the Crystal Canyon. The chaotic energy around them was exactly the same as that of the previous Chaos Raiders, only smaller and faster.

"The Mother Nest has actually laid an ambush in the Crystal Canyon in advance!" The Guardian's expression instantly turned serious. He retreated into the passage and thought of a countermeasure. "These should be 'Chaos Scouts' cultivated by the Mother Nest. They are fast, good at ambushes, and can sense the energy fluctuations of the Chaos Guardian Rune fragments. As long as I get close to the canyon, they will detect me."

He tried to locate the time crystals with his detector and found that most of them were deep within the canyon, with only a few scattered along the edge, where they were being closely watched by the Chaos Scouts. To collect enough time crystals to create a time shield, he had to first eliminate these three Chaos Scouts.

"We can't fight head-on." The Guardian's four-colored energy began to circulate again, and he recalled the "Time Illusion" technique mentioned in the energy chip.

Using the unstable time flow within the temporal turbulence zone, he created a false projection of consciousness to attract the enemy's attention, then seized the opportunity to circle around behind them and launch an attack. He injected a small amount of energy into the passage exit, creating three false projections identical to himself, and then controlled the projections to fly towards the Crystal Canyon.

As expected, the three Chaos Scouts fell for the trap and immediately charged towards the false projection, unleashing chaotic energy from their black claws that instantly tore the projection apart. Just as they thought they had succeeded, the Guardian rushed out from the passage exit, circled around to the right of the Chaos Scout behind it, and transformed its four-colored energy into a blade of light, precisely slashing at its core crystal.

With a "crack," the crystal shattered, and the Chaos Scout's body vanished instantly.

The other two Chaos Scouts reacted and turned to attack the Guardian. The Guardian didn't linger; he immediately flew towards the edge of the canyon, where three Time Crystals lay scattered. Collecting these three would allow him to create a simple time shield. He moved with incredible speed, successfully seizing the three Time Crystals before the Chaos Scouts could catch up.

"It's time to retreat!" The guardian turned to return to the miniature space passage, only to find a huge purple figure slowly emerging at the passage's exit.

The main body of the mother nest actually chased after him personally, and the chaotic energy around it was even stronger than before. It was clear that it had given up attacking the multi-dimensional origin core and came specifically to intercept him!

"Guardian, do you think you can escape?" The Mother Nest's true consciousness, filled with chilling killing intent, unleashed a torrent of chaotic energy, completely sealing off the Guardian's escape route. "The Time Turbulence Zone will be your burial ground. I will personally take the fragment from your hands here!"

The Guardian's heart sank to the bottom. He looked at the three time crystals in his hand, then at the chaotic energy released by the Mother Nest, and a trace of despair flashed in his eyes.

The Time Protection Shield was not yet completed, so he was completely unable to fight against the main body of the Mother Nest, let alone escape from here.

Just then, the fragment of the Chaos Guardian Rune in his hand suddenly trembled violently, and a small golden pattern appeared on the surface of the fragment, pointing to the depths of the time turbulence zone, as if guiding him to a certain place.

The detector also emitted a faint alarm, indicating a strong energy fluctuation deep within the turbulent zone, highly consistent with the energy fluctuation of the fragment—this was the signal from the second fragment of the Chaos Guardian Rune!

"The fragments are deep within the turbulent zone!" Hope rekindled in the Guardian's eyes. Ignoring the Mother Nest's attempts to stop him, he turned and flew deeper into the turbulent zone. The Mother Nest immediately released countless chaotic energy tentacles, attacking the Guardian, but they were blocked by a sudden storm of time fragments that appeared within the turbulent zone.

The fragments of time stirred up by the storm tore the tentacles of chaotic energy into countless pieces.

"Time Fragment Storm!" The main body of the Mother Nest roared angrily, but dared not enter the storm rashly. It could only linger on the outer edge of the storm, waiting for it to subside. "Guardian, even if you find the second fragment, you cannot escape my pursuit! When the storm calms down, I will make you and the fragment disappear completely!"

The Guardian didn't look back. Using the cover of the storm of time fragments, he flew rapidly into the depths of the turbulent zone. The flow of time within the storm accelerated, and his consciousness began to feel slightly dizzy, as if countless different timelines were pulling at his mind.

This is the first test upon entering the time turbulence zone, and also the most dangerous one.

He forced himself to endure the dizziness, crushing the three time crystals to create a makeshift time shield. The pale blue light emitted by the shield enveloped his consciousness, lessening the pulling sensation on the timeline. The energy signal on the detector grew stronger, the second fragment drawing ever closer, but the storm intensified. Countless fragments of time, like sharp blades, relentlessly struck the time shield, causing its light to gradually dim.

"Just one more stretch!" The Guardian gritted his teeth, channeling all his remaining energy into the protective shield, and continued flying deeper into the turbulent zone. He could see a powerful golden light flashing at the center of the storm—the location of the second fragment of the Chaos Guardian Rune. But just as he was about to reach the center, the time shield suddenly cracked—a massive fragment of time had struck its weakest point, and the shield was about to collapse!

The guardian's stream of consciousness began to drift uncontrollably outwards from the storm, threatening to be swallowed up at any moment. He gazed at the golden light in the distance, a resolute glint in his eyes, and unleashed his last burst of energy, transforming into a streak of light that flew towards the fragments.

Can he obtain the second fragment of the Chaos Guardian Rune before the protective shield collapses? And what kind of deadly attack will the Mother Nest, waiting on the outskirts of the storm, launch after the storm subsides?
