Chapter 77 Snow Demon King's Offensive
Chapter 77 Snow Demon King's Offensive
When Lin Ran returned, she had a spray bottle and a bottle of ice water in her hands.
Place the basin beside the bed, pour in cold water, and immerse her left foot in the water.
He held her heels with one hand and splashed water with the other, the icy water flowing down her instep, over her ankle, and over her toes.
Her ankles were very thin, with very thin skin, and you could see the bluish veins underneath.
Water droplets clung to her jade-like instep, reflecting the light. Lin Ran gently pressed the swollen area with her thumb; thankfully, there were no lumps, so it wasn't serious.
"It itches~"
The girl's toes curled up, and the cat's paw pads wrinkled with snowy white.
"Does it hurt?"
"A little bit."
Lin Ran shook the spray and pressed it twice on the swollen area.
When the medicine was sprayed on, her legs twitched and her toes curled up.
Take her feet out of the basin and place a dry towel under her heels.
"Don't get out of bed tonight. Call me if you need anything."
"What if Xuexue needs to pee? Will the zookeeper hug Xuexue from behind? Won't they see Xuexue...?"
"stop!"
Lin Ran choked a little.
"Hehe~"
Su Peixue lay on the bed, turned to her side, and rested her head on the pillow.
Lin Ran sat at his desk, turned on his computer, and imported the footage from his camera. The screen light shone on his face as he opened the editing software and dragged the footage he had shot that day into the timeline one by one.
The light and shadow on the screen kept changing, and the timeline of the editing software moved to the right frame by frame. He would occasionally stop and zoom in on a particular shot.
Look at the corners of her eyes, her fingers, her eyelashes glistening with water droplets.
Su Peixue lay on her side in bed. Her gaze shifted from his back to the moon outside the window. Moonlight streamed in, illuminating her eyes.
There was a mirror on Lin Ran's table. He would glance at it from time to time until the girl closed her almond-shaped eyes.
The cat fell asleep under the watchful eye of its keeper.
By the time I finished editing the video, it was completely dark outside.
Lin Ran dragged the last subtitle onto the timeline: "[Seale a jar of summer, wait for the first snow to open]".
Then he clicked export. The progress bar slowly climbed forward, and he leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes for a while.
When I opened my eyes again, the export was complete.
Lin Ran registered a Bilibili account with the ID: 【Xuexue's Rural Life】
He took a screenshot from the footage he shot today; Su Peixue was sitting on the doorstep, the setting sun outlining half of her profile. He uploaded the video, hovered the mouse over the publish button for a second, and then clicked it.
Once the upload progress bar was complete, Lin Ran shut down her computer.
Only the small bedside lamp remained in the room, its warm yellow light illuminating the edge of the bed. Su Peixue lay on his side, the blanket pulled up to his shoulders, his breathing even. He leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes.
He didn't know how long he had slept. In his hazy state, someone took his hand. The fingers were soft and cool, gently shaking his wrist.
"Zookeeper, come sleep with Xuexue."
Lin Ran was probably really sleepy. She rolled onto the bed following the force.
When I woke up again, I was awakened by birdsong.
A sliver of morning light peeked through the curtains and fell on the pillow. He opened his eyes and found himself lying on his back, the blanket pulled up to his chest. His left arm was numb.
Su Peixue curled up to his left, her head nestled in the crook of his shoulder, her hair cascading down his arm. Her breathing was soft, her eyelashes drooping, and the tip of her nose was just two fingers' width away from his collarbone. Her knees were pulled up, resting against the outside of his thighs. The blanket, kicked askew in her sleep, lay askew on both of them.
How did I end up in bed?
Fragments of memories vaguely surfaced in his mind: someone tugged at his hand, a soft voice, and then he rolled onto her. He couldn't remember anything else. He gently moved her head away from his shoulder and placed it back on the pillow.
Su Peixue's eyelashes fluttered, and she frowned slightly. She wasn't awake; her foot hurt.
She twitched unconsciously in her sleep, her brows furrowed, and her lips pursed.
Lin Ran sat up, carefully lifted the blanket, and held her left foot. The swelling on the outside of her ankle had subsided somewhat, and the color had changed from pale blue last night to light yellow. But ligament sprains usually hurt more the next day, and she flinched when her ankle bone was touched.
She shook the spray and pressed it twice against the swollen area. The medicine felt cool when sprayed on, and her calf muscles tensed up and then relaxed.
Su Peixue's eyelashes fluttered again. She opened her eyes, her gaze shifting from Lin Ran's face to the spray bottle in his hand, and then to her feet, which he was holding.
She lifted her fair, delicate feet slightly, her voice still hoarse from just waking up.
"The zookeeper..."
"Um."
"Pee..."
Lin Ran put down the spray bottle, supported her back with one hand, and put the other hand under her knees to lift her up in a princess carry.
The girl was still limp, leaning on his shoulder. When they reached the bathroom door, he used his knee to push it open and placed her on the toilet.
Su Peixue reached out to take off her pajama bottoms.
The waistband of her pants was pulled down a bit, revealing her dazzlingly white hip bones.
Lin Ran's heart skipped a beat.
"Hey, I haven't gone out yet!"
He stepped out of the bathroom and closed the door. Leaning against the doorframe, he heard the rustling of fabric coming from inside. His heart was still pounding.
After a while, it became quiet inside.
The sound of flushing water. Then Su Peixue's voice came from inside the door.
"The zookeeper..."
Lin Ran pushed open the door and pulled the girl into his arms. But she hesitated to move, only looking up at Lin Ran with something flickering in her almond-shaped eyes.
"Pull up your pants!"
Seeing that Su Peixue was not moving, Lin Ran had a feeling that this little girl was thinking of some kind of trick again.
Su Peixue's pretty face was rosy pink, and her almond-shaped eyes were like pools of autumn water.
"Xuexue's legs are too slippery, her pants have fallen down to her ankles, and her feet hurt so she can't squat down to pick them up. What should we do, zookeeper?"
Lin Ran took a deep breath.
Is this a test for cadres?
Oh, I'm not a cadre. Then I don't need to withstand the test.
He closed his eyes and squatted down. His hands reached for the pajama bottoms piled up at her ankles, his fingers pinching the waistband, and he pulled them up.
The back of my fingers glided along the side of my calf, so close that it was inevitable that it would brush against my leg when I pulled up my pants.
Lin Ran's heart raced.
Su Peixue's heart pounded like a deer's, and she leaned her entire weight onto him, her forehead resting against Lin Ran's neck. Her breath brushed against the opening of his collar, carrying the sweet scent of someone just awakened.
"It's okay if the zookeeper doesn't close their eyes~"
Lin Ran: "..."
I'm starting to feel the pressure from Xuexue the Great Demon King's onslaught!
Lin Ran draped her arm over his shoulder, slipped one hand under her knees, picked her up, and placed her back on the bed. Her leg dangled slightly in his arms, and the hem of her pajama bottoms brushed against his wrist.
Su Peixue sat leaning against the pillows, her legs stretched out, her ankles resting on the neatly folded blankets. She watched Lin Ran turn and leave, her fingers unconsciously twisting the corner of the blankets.
