Chapter 561 - 562
Chapter 561 - 562
If it were in the past, when Wu Tian claimed he could sweep across the globe within a month—and that thereafter, wherever the sun and moon shone and the Jianghu reached, all would be Han territory—the world would have deemed it impossible.
But things were different now. Wu Tian’s title as the Martial God was as unshakable as Mount Tai. He seemed to be the very embodiment of invincibility, and many believed he could achieve what no one in history ever had.
Now, inside the Coalition Building, the monarchs were in a heated discussion. They were deliberating the very thing Wu Tian had proclaimed: the conquest of the globe within a month.
"Monarch of Law, this is all your doing," the Monarch of the Ouba Dynasty suggested. "You should go before that Martial God and commit suicide as an apology. Don’t drag the rest of us down with you."
The other monarchs nodded. "I believe this is our only option!" the Monarch of the Iron Wolf Dynasty declared coldly.
One by one, the others voiced their assent, but they all knew the final decision rested with the monarch of the leading power, the Hua Sheng Dynasty: Heiba Ma.
"Enough!" Heiba Ma roared, slamming his palm on the table as he shot to his feet. BANG! The resounding noise instantly silenced the monarchs in the office hall. After all, the Hua Sheng Dynasty was universally recognized as the strongest dynasty, its power unrivaled.
Heiba Ma’s presence was commanding even without a show of anger. He clenched his fists. "The Martial God hasn’t even attacked, yet we’re already paralyzed with fear? What kind of joke is this! Remember, we are monarchs. We must set an example for our subjects. If we are afraid, imagine the terror they will feel. Our coalition is collapsing before he’s even made a move!
"You’re telling the Monarch of Law to kill himself? Ha! Do you really think Wu Tian will spare us just because he’s dead?" As Heiba Ma spoke, his voice rose to a furious bellow that echoed through the hall, leaving the other monarchs silent and intimidated. "I’m telling you, even if the Monarch of Law dies, Wu Tian will still attack! This is the perfect opportunity for him to unite the world, and now he has a justified cause. If I were Wu Tian, I wouldn’t let this chance slip by either! What we need to do now is unite. Otherwise, we can all go to our doom together and become monarchs of fallen dynasties!
"This battle will be the most glorious in human history and will be recorded in its annals. It is the definitive war for global unification, an event unprecedented in all of time. You, you, you, and you—all of us will be recorded in those annals, but we will be remembered as the monarchs of fallen dynasties!"
Heiba Ma’s words made the other monarchs lower their heads one by one in shame.
His voice softened, though it lost none of its authority. "We have gathered here today in the hopes that we can concentrate our forces and pool our wisdom. Wu Tian, no matter how formidable, is just one man. At most, he has the Dragon Dynasty behind him. Are all the dynasties of the world truly unable to contend with a single Dragon Dynasty?" He was, in this room, the one who most embodied the spirit of a monarch.
Hearing this, the other monarchs could only exchange helpless glances. What good strategy could they possibly devise against Wu Tian? Their fighter jets were state-of-the-art, yet they were utterly useless. With a single sword strike, Wu Tian had destroyed 20,000 of them. How could anyone resist such power?
Heiba Ma sighed. "Meeting adjourned. Go back to your own courts and think of a solution."
With that, the coalition meeting dissolved, and the monarchs departed, their shoulders slumped in defeat.
Just then, the Monarch of Law approached Heiba Ma, his face full of gratitude. "Thank you for speaking up for your brother just now!"
Heiba Ma was already seething with his own troubles. Am I really destined to be the monarch of a fallen dynasty? When the Monarch of Law came closer, Heiba Ma lashed out with a sudden kick, sending the unsuspecting man sprawling to the ground. Not yet satisfied, Heiba Ma glanced around. Seeing no one, he advanced and began kicking the downed monarch again and again with brutal force.
"It’s you! It was all you!" Heiba Ma glared, shouting between kicks. "Wu Tian killed a few of your men, and you just had to demand a coalition meeting, creating this entire mess! Are you satisfied now? You bastard, are you satisfied?!"
The Monarch of Law was kicked until he passed out, but his eyes remained wide open, frozen in an expression of utter disbelief.
"Bastard! Bastard! Bastard!" Seeing him unconscious only enraged Heiba Ma further. Passing out lets you temporarily forget your sorrows! But what should I do? I don’t want to be the monarch of a fallen dynasty!
Wu Tian’s declaration—to sweep across the globe in a month—had robbed Heiba Ma of his appetite, to say nothing of his ability to rest.
"Monarch, don’t torment yourself any longer." A while later, Gaia, the foremost expert of the Hua Sheng Dynasty’s Underground World, came to find Heiba Ma.
Seeing Gaia improved Heiba Ma’s mood significantly. "Do you have the confidence to deal with Wu Tian?" His voice was desolate and frail. Wu Tian had become an insurmountable mountain crushing him.
"No. I can’t beat him," Gaia replied, shaking his head. In the Underground World of the Dragon Dynasty, Wu Tian already reigned supreme. Although he was called Gaia, it was merely a codename; he was not the true Mother Earth. How could he possibly defeat Wu Tian? Gaia knew with certainty that he could never accomplish the feats Wu Tian had.
"Then let’s proceed with our original plan," Heiba Ma said, forcing the words out through gritted teeth.
"The creation—a synthesis of the ultra-modern technology from the surface and the power of the Underground World—is complete... but it’s terrifying. Are we really going to do this?" Gaia asked.
"What other choice do we have?" Heiba Ma sighed. "I know it’s a weapon of last resort." His jaw tightened as he added, "If I can’t have this world, then no one can."
"Shall we go see ’it’ now?" Gaia stepped closer, his voice low.
"Fine," Heiba Ma said with a hint of hesitation. "Is it stable?"
"Don’t worry, it’s very stable," Gaia responded, his own eyes betraying a sense of awe at the thing’s terrifying potential. In his view, it was the perfect counter to Wu Tian.
"Good!" Heiba Ma nodded. "Let’s go have a look."
The two left the Coalition Building, moving in secret. They took many unnecessary detours, and only after confirming they weren’t being followed did they descend into an underground sewer. The place was bizarre, reminiscent of a certain cartoon where four turtles lived and strange things often lurked.
Heiba Ma and Gaia navigated to the sewer’s depths, where a subterranean, palace-like structure led to the highly secretive Roswell Base in Area 51. There, scientists had been studying an alien airship that crashed decades ago, dissecting alien corpses, and researching the existence of creatures like lake monsters and yetis.
In its deepest recess lay the ultimate product born from the recent revival of Spiritual Energy—a fusion of ultra-modern surface technology and the power of the Underground World. It was the "thing" Gaia and Heiba Ma had spoken of.
This thing slumbered within a massive container.
Gaia took a deep breath. "Monarch, shall I have it released for you to see?"
