Chapter 416 Mad Horse

Chapter 416 Mad Horse

Jiang Zaizhou had seen most of the contestants and was about to leave when he suddenly caught a whiff of tobacco. It was the smell of a heavy smoker. He looked around, trying to see which guy was smoking so heavily, but he didn't see anyone who was a heavy smoker. He took a deep drag of the smell and walked in the direction it came from, finally stopping in front of a black horse.

It turns out the old smoker was the dark horse.

Jiang Zaizhou walked halfway around the horse and almost bumped into a young woman.

"What are you doing here?" Zuo Buqiu took a step back and looked at the man in front of him strangely.

Hearing voices, Jiang Zaizhou finally looked away from the horse and asked Zuo Buqiu, "Miss, are you going to ride this horse to play polo?"

"Correct."

Jiang Zaizhou moved closer to the horse beside him, sniffed its mouth, and was about to touch it when it started neighing and pawing the ground, its hooves pawing wildly. Zuo Buqiu quickly hugged the horse to comfort it, "It's alright, it's alright, Zhuifeng, don't be afraid."

"Miss, you must be Ms. Zuo Buqiu." Jiang Zaizhou frowned as he looked at the dark horse. "Yu Ru is your friend, so I remember you. I wonder if you remember me? I'm a friend of Yu Ru's lover."

"I know, Mr. Jiang Zaizhou, what are you trying to do by circling around my horse?" Zuo Buqiu was displeased, but he maintained a basic level of calm in his expression and tone.

"I smell something off your horse, like a chain smoker. Your horse doesn't smoke, does it? Did it eat something wrong? I suggest you get another horse. If this horse ate 'mad grass' and 'heavenly henbane,' its breath and body might smell like tobacco. These two plants have hallucinogenic components, and if the horse hears any unusual noises, it will go crazy, which is very dangerous," Jiang Zaizhou said seriously.

Upon hearing this, Zuo Buqiu's expression hardened. The horse beside her was indeed somewhat different from usual. Regardless of whether Jiang Zaizhou's judgment was correct, being cautious was always the right thing to do. She stroked the horse's body with one hand while glancing at her other teammates.

"Thank you, Mr. Jiang. I'll go and tell the others to see if there are any replacements."

“Alright then.” Jiang Zaizhou nodded. “Go ahead and tell them. I can keep an eye on your horse for now.”

In the end, Zuo Buqiu did not participate in the competition. She asked the stableman to take the horse back to the stable to take care of it, and she went with Jiang Zaizhou to find Yu Ru.

"Yu Ru." Zuo Buqiu approached Yu Ru and the others, first greeting Yu Ru, then briefly greeting the others as well. "Hello, my surname is Zuo, and I am Yu Ru's friend."

"Buqiu, why aren't you riding a horse?" Yu Ru asked, pulling out a chair for her to sit down.

Zuo Buqiu reached out and took Yu Ru's hand. "Yu Ru, Mr. Jiang Zaizhou said there might be something wrong with that horse. I was worried something might happen, so I didn't go on stage. Will you come with me to change my clothes?"

Yu Ru glanced down at her gorgeous dress and nodded, "I'll go change into one too."

Zuo Buqiu took Yu Ru's hand and led her to his private dressing room to change.

Yu Ru changed into a casual outfit. The new dress was a deep navy blue, with a full-coverage heavy lace fabric as the main material. The small stand-up collar was adorned with delicate velvet ribbons in the same color, and the edge of the collar was joined by a circle of scalloped lace trim, combining retro and feminine elements. The sleeves were short, straight lace sleeves, with the sleeve tubes made of openwork mesh lace, the length just covering the upper arms, neat and not sloppy. The waist was precisely cinched by horizontal lace trim, and the skirt was a fitted, slightly A-line midi skirt silhouette. The hem was layered with multiple layers of three-dimensional navy blue and light gray-blue contrasting appliqués, the flowers were rich in layers and had openwork textures, and the hem also had an irregular wave cut following the lace pattern. The fitted cut paired with three-dimensional floral decorations showed both gentle elegance and a just-right dignified texture due to the navy blue tone and heavy lace.

Zuo Buqiu, who was originally wearing equestrian attire, has changed into a white satin sleeveless evening gown. The dress is made entirely of pure white matte satin, with a smooth and silky texture, exuding a high-end and minimalist feel. The boat neck and sleeveless design hugs the neckline, while the right neckline is decorated with a pearl chain and three-dimensional satin flowers, adding a touch of sophistication to its simplicity. The skirt is a fitted, A-line midi skirt with a naturally cinched waist and a flowing, slightly flared hem. Without any unnecessary embellishments, the clean cut highlights a minimalist and high-class feel.

"Yu Ru, you look really good in this outfit." Zuo Buqiu looked at Yu Ru with admiration in his eyes and smiled.

“You look great like this, minimalist and elegant,” Yu Ru replied with a smile. “Let’s go, I’m a little hungry.”

"Okay." Zuo Buqiu stepped forward and took her hand, walking out with her. "By the way, how come you can talk all of a sudden? Which doctor was so skilled that they cured you?"

“My aphasia is caused by psychological problems. A while ago, something happened to my family, and I started talking in a panic.”

"Oh, I see. It's so good that I can talk now."

“Yes, I think so too.” Yu Ru nodded.

The two returned to the vicinity of the racecourse to watch the race.

The polo match has already begun, and the annoying Hong Mian that Jiang Zaizhou mentioned is in this match.

"Hey, hey, hey, look at that number nine, that's the bitch." Jiang Zaizhou couldn't wait to point her out to the others.

The others looked at number nine, and to be honest, the polo player was wearing a hat, and there was some distance between them, so they couldn't see his expression. From his body language, they couldn't discern anything wrong either.

“He seems to be alright,” Xi Yizai said.

“Something’s going to happen soon.” Jiang Zaizhou hummed a little tune smugly. “I think it would be bad if he got into an accident during the competition and bumped into someone while dizzy. By the time this match is over, it’ll be about time.”

As he said, at the end of the first half, Hong Mian dismounted and immediately knelt on the ground, clutching his stomach in obvious pain. Medical personnel waiting near the racecourse rushed over immediately, lifted him onto a stretcher, and took him away for treatment.

Jiang Zaizhou excitedly followed in the direction the medical personnel had gone, and Yu Ru, who also wanted to see what the person spreading the rumors was really like, followed as well. As soon as she left, Zuo Buqiu and Yun Jixing followed. After everyone had left, Xi Yizai and Jun Wuxia, thinking they were there to have fun anyway, decided to join in the fun and followed as well.

There was only Hong Mian, the "patient," and four doctors in the medical room. When they arrived, Hong Mian was lying on the floor, his pants were wet, indicating he had clearly lost control of his bladder and bowels. The doctors kept their distance from him.

Jiang Zaizhou's gloating spirit helped to shield him from some of the stench. He strode up to Hong Mian and exclaimed, "Oh my god, Hong Mian, you're such a grown man, and you still wet your pants!"

Hong Mian struggled to lift his head and look at the person in front of him. "Jiang Zaizhou, it's you..."

"puff!"

Before he could finish speaking, he let out a loud fart, and an even stronger stench wafted out.

"Hahahaha!" Jiang Zaizhou laughed loudly, looking up at the sky, while stepping back.

"Hahahaha... Hong Mian, this is retribution! Don't try to pin this on others." Jiang Zaizhou was laughing so hard he was out of breath. The others didn't laugh because of Hong Mian's ugly behavior, since the scene was too smelly and they couldn't stand it. They were infected by his laughter.

"Hong Mian, I'm leaving. I just came to see you fall and make a fool of yourself. Now that I've seen it all, I'm leaving," Jiang Zaizhou said with a grin.

Hong Mian's face was flushed with shame and indignation, yet the pain had turned his lips white. He yelled at the medical staff who had stepped aside, "What are you all standing there for? Come and give me first aid!"
