Chapter 1246 - 1245: Draw and Guess
Chapter 1246 - 1245: Draw and Guess
"Hmm!"Everyone took a deep breath at Bald's words.
This is the Holy Mother's territory today, if you despise her, why did you come here?
"Wow, you're so impressive, even the Holy Mother isn't your match. Then why are you here? You shouldn't have come."
Tang Rao appeared frightened, saying whatever topics would provoke Bald, and after he spoke, Bald floated with arrogance: "My master said the Holy Mother is quite beautiful, told me to look. Who knew she was just so-so."
Tang Rao was secretly delighted; wasn't this the result he wanted?
Karma came swiftly; not long after Bald spoke, his face began to swell.
"I see, even atop the mountain, there are such disrespectful people."
The sudden appearance of the Holy Mother left everyone speechless.
"Ho... Holy Mother?"
Bald's legs turned to jelly, he'd never been so scared; every cell in his body screamed to flee, fearing there was no time if he didn't.
"You seemed quite eloquent a moment ago."
The Holy Mother addressed Bald.
As soon as she finished, Bald's mouth began to rot, from the corners into the inside.
No wonder the Supreme Power said the Holy Mother was not to be trifled with; even someone like Tang Rao, who considered himself a Poison Master, hadn't noticed how she poisoned Bald.
Bald's mouth and body started to decay, and even from a distance, Tang Rao could smell the stench, making him feel nauseous but unable to throw up.
"Clean this place up."
The Holy Mother turned her gaze to Tang Rao, who pointed at his own nose and asked, "Me?"
It seemed impossible to avoid involving Tang Rao in this matter.
The Holy Mother nodded and waited on the side with her hands clasped behind her back.
Tang Rao emptied a Space Ring, collected the decayed body inside, then destroyed the Space Ring.
He was embarrassed to admit he just learned this skill now.
"Holy Mother, all those who could ascend have done so; when can we go to the back mountain?"
The ones who had come before asked eagerly.
They were eager to see the rare treasures of the back mountain.
"There are more than a hundred people now, but my back mountain can only take thirty. What do you think?"
The Holy Mother, living alone, took an interest in studying human nature for pastime.
She had been hurt before, which made her distrustful, even of those closest to her.
As everyone competed for the thirty spots, it's inevitable that cunning and rivalry would arise.
The more out of control things were, the more challenging the Holy Mother found it.
"Every year there's a selection test, Holy Mother, please tell us, will we have a scholarly or martial contest?"
Someone asked boldly, while Tang Rao enjoyed sitting back to reap the benefits.
"We aim to coexist peacefully; at most, it's a friendly exchange, how can it be called a fight?"
The Holy Mother disliked being depicted as violent, though occasionally, she indeed was.
"Yes, yes, as the Holy Mother says."
It's the Holy Mother's domain; who could stand up to argue against her?
"Tell me, how shall we have this exchange this year?"
Tang Rao stood at the back, daydreaming that he wouldn't be noticed, but the Holy Mother's sharp eyes still caught where he was.
"It's my first time participating; I don't know the rules either."
Tang Rao wanted to cry but had no tears; whatever they said went, what he said didn't count, such as if he suggested not having an exchange, would that be possible?
"You need to choose thirty out of more than a hundred; if it were you, what would you do?"
The Holy Mother focused on Tang Rao, making him the center of attention.
"I really don't know; how about we compare arithmetic?"
Tang Rao thought hard but couldn't come up with anything better.
"Arithmetic?"
The Holy Mother had never heard of it; finding it curious, she immediately agreed: "Let's do as you suggested!"
"Holy Mother, how do we compare arithmetic? We're fine with literary or martial, but arithmetic—we've never approached it before. Isn't that unfair?"
Some supported while others opposed; Tang Rao thought arithmetic operations would indeed be unfair to them, so he decided to change it.
"No one beats me at arithmetic, how about we switch it, to charades?"
Tang Rao explained the new rules, and the Holy Mother was even more interested in this than arithmetic.
With the same games every year, not only was she not bored, but everyone else was too.
"We'll play charades then; young man, you host, and if you do it well, I'll let you pass directly."
The Holy Mother never played favorites, but Tang Rao was the first for whom she willingly wanted to make an exception.
"Thank you, Holy Mother."
Tang Rao bowed in gratitude.
He casually found some paper and pens, placed them on the ground, explained the rules again, then divided everyone into ten groups to test against each other, continuing until they met the Holy Mother's standard.
"Young man, what's your name? You're impressive and entertaining."
While others quickly settled into groups, Tang Rao already secured a spot. He stayed outside, ready to assist if anyone was unclear, but instead, was first approached for his name by the Holy Mother.
"Tang Rao."
Tang Rao didn't want any entanglement with the Holy Mother.
"Tang Rao, tell me, do you know the Supreme Power?"
Ah?
Got to the main topic so quickly?
Tang Rao thought it would be a while before the Holy Mother noticed, or she could have asked him quietly. Wasn't it awkward to discuss private matters while everyone else was busy racking their brains and ingenuity?
"No, don't know them..."
His face flushed as Tang Rao lied, getting caught red-handed by the Holy Mother.
"You really don't know? Who else but the Supreme Power would say I have a bad temper?"
The Holy Mother was convinced of her connection with the Supreme Power; Tang Rao wouldn't get off easy today without saying something about it.
"Isn't there only the Supreme Power who said that?"
Tang Rao was surprised; he thought many complained of the Holy Mother's temper, only to find out it was just the sharp-tongued Supreme Power picking on her temper.
"Besides him, who else dares openly say so? I know the Supreme Power isn't dead, is that right?"
When she mentioned not dead, the Holy Mother's eyes lit up.
"You figured that out too; not dead, but he told me not to tell you. I'm not going to reveal his location."
Whether Tang Rao was truly simple or pretending, the Holy Mother couldn't tell, but hearing from him that the Supreme Power still lived filled her with hope.
"Speak, what is your relation with the Supreme Power? You're aware of our relationship, aren't you?"
The Holy Mother asked awkwardly; she both wanted Tang Rao to know their connection and yet didn't want him to know.
