Chapter 403 The Mystery of the Isolated Island 4
Chapter 403 The Mystery of the Isolated Island 4
In the original storyline, the two days that followed were the beginning of their arduous search, and everyone was still eyeing the food in Wenluo's suitcase.
If there is no food left, they will definitely try their best to find food in order not to starve to death.
After all, this is just an isolated island, not a barren island where nothing grows.
Han Xi walked behind Wen Luo, very close to her, as if she was afraid of falling behind.
I imagine it would be terrifying if she got lost here and separated from everyone.
The murderer who killed the original owner has not yet been found, so Wenluo does not plan to take everyone to find food right now.
They found a clean pond along the way and filled it with water.
Wenluo wouldn't drink the raw water, but now the others have no choice but to drink it.
They haven't found anything edible yet, and they haven't rested for three days, so they can only continue searching.
Fortunately, after walking for about an hour or two, Meng Ke saw a tree ahead that was full of wild fruit.
The branches were covered with purple fruits, each about half the size of a fist, unlike any wild fruit they had ever seen before.
Meng Ke and Han Xi were both pleasantly surprised, and Wen Luo also stared intently at the tree, as if longing for food.
They went up to the tree and found that it still had quite a few fruits on it.
"What kind of fruit is this? Shall we pick it?" Han Xi asked.
Meng Ke hesitated for a moment and said, "I've never seen it before, I don't know if it's edible."
Seeing the two of them like this, Wenluo pointed to the rotten fruit on the ground and said, "There are traces of animals eating it, so it should be edible."
"Are you sure?" Han Xi asked, looking at her.
Wenlu shook her head: "I can't be 100% sure." That's what she said, but she knew it was edible.
Meng Ke observed carefully and said, "I also think they're edible. Let's start picking them."
Hearing him say that, the two men didn't say anything, and the three of them took out the large bags they had brought to pack the fruit.
They picked everything they could and filled a big bag.
Although these wild fruits might not be very filling, they were better than nothing, and they also replenished their fluids, which made them feel much better.
Without Wenluo to guide them, they didn't encounter anything else to eat.
So after searching all morning, they only found this one big bag of wild fruit, and when it was time to head back the way they came.
When they returned to camp, the other three had already returned.
Seeing them return carrying a large bag of things, Wang Qiang, along with Li Wenwen and He Nian, happily came over to greet them.
He Nian stared at the bag Meng Ke was carrying and spoke first: "It seems you've made some gains. We've also found a cave."
Han Xi was also pleased to hear this. She hadn't slept well last night, having spent the night on the beach, and couldn't help but say:
"We finally have a place to stay tonight. We found a wild fruit tree and picked all the fruit."
"That's great, Sister Han Xi, you guys are so lucky!" Li Wenwen happily stepped forward and took Han Xi's hand.
Han Xi also had a smile on her face; having something to eat was the most important thing.
Wang Qiang said with a smile, "It's good that we've made some progress. Let's eat something first, then move into the cave, and everyone can go out to find something to eat in the afternoon."
No one had any objections, so they naturally followed the arrangements.
Everyone seems to be getting along quite harmoniously now, but Wenluo's gaze swept over their reactions, and his lowered eyes held a rather meaningful look.
Because Wenluo also went out to find food, although she still had some food, she would definitely get some wild fruit too.
This fruit tastes somewhat like a boneless plum, but it's a bit juicier and has a mild flavor that's neither sour nor sweet.
After eating, everyone packed up and followed Wang Qiang and the other two for about half an hour.
They finally arrived at a cave entrance, where there were signs that the weeds had been cleared away.
Wang Qiang said, "We've already done a quick clean of the entrance and inside. Let's go in and take a look."
Li Wenwen pulled Han Xi and Sister Wenluo along, saying, "Come with me, we women live on the right side of the cave."
Upon entering the cave, Wenluo noticed that the floor was sloping, with the right side slightly higher and the left side lower.
It didn't matter which side they stayed in, so the two of them had no objections and followed Li Wenwen to put their things down.
Their wet clothes had all been dried and put in Wenluo's suitcase.
Nobody had much luggage, just some food, some odds and ends, mineral water bottles and bags, and not even a pot.
They only feel at ease when the food is all placed together in a place where everyone can see it.
The six people worked quickly and thoroughly cleaned the inside and outside of the cave, making it look better than it did at the beginning.
After finishing with finding a place to stay, everyone split up again to find something to eat.
Unfortunately, after spending the whole afternoon out, they didn't find anything.
Wenlu felt that although everyone hadn't been very attentive, the island was indeed very large and the journey was quite long.
She only saw wild fruits in two places that afternoon, but didn't remind anyone.
There should be a good show tonight, but she can't disrupt the original plot right now.

Everyone was exhausted after a long day, so they ate something and went to bed early.
No one seems to realize yet that someone should be arranged to keep watch at night.
In the pitch-black cave, only the burning fire emitted a faint light.
Around midnight, Wenluo heard someone getting up.
She didn't open her eyes, pretending not to know.
After a while, the rustling sound faded away towards the cave entrance.
After a brief silence, the sound of someone getting up was heard again.
There were six of them in total, and three of them started to get impatient very early on.
About half an hour later, footsteps began to be heard entering the cave.
Wenlu noticed someone standing next to her, apparently eyeing her suitcase.
She didn't move. These things had all happened in the original storyline, and she knew they wouldn't touch her suitcase tonight.
Sure enough, after a short while, I felt the person standing next to me walk away.
The next morning, before Wenluo even opened his eyes, he heard Wang Qiang's voice.
"Half of the food is gone. Who stole some last night?"
Wang Qiang recounted how he was woken up early in the morning by hunger. He glanced at the missing food and was so startled that he stood up and went over to check if he was seeing things.
He was quite angry to find that half of the food was indeed gone.
Of course, no one would step forward to admit it. Li Wenwen went over to look and said incredulously, "How could this be? Who stole the food?"
"I didn't steal any food. I went to bed early last night," He Nian said, scratching his head with a bewildered expression.
Han Xi also said, "I didn't eat it either."
Meng Ke didn't speak, but just shook his head. Wen Luo then said, "It wasn't me."
“It definitely wasn’t me. I just woke up; I didn’t even get up to pee during the night,” Li Wenwen said.
Wang Qiang's expression turned somewhat grim: "If it's neither, then could it be something a ghost ate?"
