Chapter 152: Reheating Robot
Chapter 152: Reheating Robot
"What will a closed cabin look like?" Xing murmured in the empty corridor, his voice echoing in the silence, adding a bit of weirdness.
She walked towards the long-dusty elevator, gently slid her fingers over the command card given by Ruan Mei, and then placed it on the terminal.
The elevator door slowly opened, like a huge mouth swallowing life.
Xing took a deep breath, mustered up the courage and walked in.
The elevator began to descend, accompanied by an eerie creaking sound and a low roar that seemed to come from beneath the earth.
"This elevator...how long has it been since it was repaired?" Xing said puzzledly.
“Hoohoo…”
The wind was whistling in my ears, accompanied by waves of grinding sounds on the wall coming from nowhere.
Then, the elevator finally stopped at the bottom floor, the door slowly opened, and a cold breath blew in.
The world before Xing's eyes was engulfed in darkness, and she could only rely on the faint blue light to barely see ahead.
The light came from outside the viewing glass, emitted by the azure stars.
"call.."
Xing let out a long sigh and then left the elevator.
"Da da.."
The sound of Xing's high heels echoed in the empty cabin. She tried her best to stay calm and walked forward slowly.
She looked around and could only vaguely see that the surroundings were filled with broken boxes and machines. They seemed to be asleep, but could wake up at any time.
Suddenly, a shadow appeared in front and was reflected on the right side. Xing also saw the extra shadow.
Xing turned his head and saw a broken robot floating in the air. The robot slowly turned its head and faced Xing. Its mechanical eyes flashed with strange light and made a "crackling" sound of electricity.
Its face is covered with rust and cracks, as if it is a terrifying face eroded by time.
Instantly! Its eyes suddenly lit up, and a dazzling red light shot straight towards Xing.
"what!"
Xing screamed, and saw the robot start to tremble...she turned around and wanted to run.
However, the moment she turned around, she was shocked to find that the elevator control panel suddenly changed from blue to blood-red, and then the elevator began to rise rapidly.
Xing hesitated for a moment, tightly grasped the weapon in his hand, mustered up the courage and slowly turned back.
But... everything she saw was unbelievable to her... the terrifying robot just now disappeared without a trace.
She quickly turned and looked back, still seeing no sign of any robots.
Then Xing looked around, and saw nothing everywhere. The robot was really gone.
Fear surged into Xing's heart like a tide, and he couldn't help but take a few steps back.
At this moment, there was a loud "boom" and the lights in the space suddenly lit up, and the darkness that had been shrouding the space was instantly dispelled.
However, the sudden light did not bring the expected comfort, but instead aggravated Xing's uneasiness. She tightly grasped the weapon in her hand and scanned the surroundings vigilantly, worried that the mysterious robot would appear again inadvertently.
The silence around her was suffocating, with only the sound of Xing's own heartbeat echoing in the empty space, each beat beating against her nerves like a drum.
Xing remained alert in place, concentrating on the movements around him.
Gradually, her heartbeat began to calm down, and there seemed to be no new changes in the atmosphere around her.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm her nerves.
Then, Xing took cautious steps and continued to explore forward.
As she passed a box, she noticed something seemed odd behind it.
She carefully walked around to the other side of the box, and the scene before her made her instantly alert. She saw the robot she had seen before, standing there quietly.
Xing's heartbeat quickened again, and she immediately prepared herself to respond. She gripped her weapon tightly and approached the robot cautiously, ready to find out its intentions.
"Hiss, Madam Black Tower has authorized, hiss, the hatch is about to open to receive visitors from the galaxy from another world." The robot said slowly in its unique electronic voice.
"This is a high-risk alert area, hiss, the service personnel are inorganic life forms, hiss."
"We have obtained authorization from Ms. Ruan Mei, and Ms. Heita has no objection. Hiss." The robot imitated Heita's tone and repeated mechanically.
"Hiss, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me, hiss." The robot turned to Xing, with a cold light flashing in his eyes.
Xing stared at the robot, his vigilance slowly fading.
"Why are you here?" Xing asked curiously.
"Hiss, I am the twin robot of the Little Fried Rice Robot, named Fried Cold Rice Robot, responsible for maintaining the daily operation of this compartment, hiss."
"What's so special about this compartment?" Xing continued to ask.
"This is a first-level confidential area, hiss, it receives various distinguished guests, and it may also hide dangerous people, hiss, this is where Ms. Black Tower stores dangerous objects, and Ms. Ruan Mei also conducts life cultivation experiments here, hiss."
After listening to this, Xing had a deeper understanding of the complexity and danger of this place.
"But this is exactly why I'm here." Xing said with a smile.
"Please provide me with a map." Xing asked the robot.
"The first underground floor is the transfer center, hiss. The second underground floor has shuttle buses, culture dishes, and dangerous items containment areas. Hiss. Please be aware that there are unknown dangers in the corridor area, hiss."
"Hiss, what else do you need?" the robot asked again.
“I want to find where the petri dish is.”
"It is risky to go directly to the second underground floor, hiss, but there are still other paths to check, hiss, I suggest you go underground and look for relevant cultivation path records, hiss."
"Thank you." Xing thanked him and continued on his way.
Soon, she came to a dark platform with a terminal next to it.
Xing took out the command card, swiped it on the terminal, and the platform began to slowly descend.
As the platform descended, Xing felt the light around him gradually dim and the air seemed to become heavier.
She gripped the weapon tightly in her hand and looked around vigilantly.
Soon, the platform finally stopped, and Xing found himself in a huge underground space filled with various complex mechanical devices and flashing indicator lights.
Xing walked carefully, trying to avoid touching the dangerous-looking machines.
She made her way down what looked like a corridor, encountering several closed doors along the way, which Xing tried to open with the command cards, but to no avail.
Suddenly, Xing touched something and a sound was heard. As the system started up, a virtual path appeared on the wall, guiding Xing to the target location.
She followed the instructions on the path, passed through complex corridors and doors, and finally arrived at a culture room.
At this moment, Xing suddenly noticed a computer terminal below.
She walked down quickly and saw various data and images displayed on the screen.
Xing guessed that this might be what the robot meant by the cultivation path record.
Then..Xing started looking through the records on this computer..
